Used to love the boutique area but they have stopped stocking plus sized clothes. When mentioned to associate in December, was told small selection because larger size sold out first. This week told won’t stock anymore- shrugged it off- felt very disrespected as a larger person by associate and a manager who said she hadn’t been there long enough to even know they once did sell them. Whole store attitude in my view is we need/want them more than they need/want us. I know they are an institution and I grew up with them but I’m pretty much done.

If I can rate 0 stars I would. I don’t recommend Prairie Gardens as a person of color. A close friend took me to Prairie Gardens to look for house decor. We walk in and immediately go to the bathroom, not even 5 minutes later a store manager walks in and deliberately sets up her phone to angle me as my friend is using the bathroom. She stood in the stall next to the door without ever using the bathroom. I wave at the camera because the energy was off so I wanted to make sure she knew I was aware. As soon as we leave the bathroom I turn to see an employee staring at us. I try to dismiss it because I’m not new to this treatment in these types of stores. Many other customers were staring and left the area as my friend and I started looking around. My friend called to report the behavior and she proceeded to give excuses and said we misjudged the situation. My friend has been to this store many times and never was treated in this manner. She was always greeted at the door and greeted by employees while shopping. Another woman I know has worked at this establishment before and mentioned she has been told by management to follow around a black woman that was taking a phone call. She told

My husband and i drove an hour to visit this nursery for my birthday. They have a great selection of plants, i found the houseplant i have been looking for forever! As with all plants check for pests there were baby mealys on the one I purchased. I loved looking at the bird feeders, so much decor, and the plethora of ceramic pots. Very happy with this store and the pricing on everything. I got a ceramic seahorse water pitcher also!

I’ve never been in the winter. I was pleasantly surprised at the selection of live plants. It was so hard to walk out of there without all of them. I plan to go back…soon. And I’ll be walking out there with a few dreams.

Amazing nursery with a wide assortment of planets you can't find anywhere else. We have a bonsi and a spurs bonsi and we love both. They carry women's clothing, jewlery and household goods to boot. There is no home decor you can't find here. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly and offer assistance when needed.
